How it works

Banking that fits around you

Touch gives you everyday banking, plus support from people you trust. Here’s how it comes together.

Your journey with Touch

  1. 1

    Join

Open your Touch Account with a simple, accessible application. If you’d like help applying, we can talk you through it.

  2. 2

    Set up your support

Invite people you trust into your Support Circle. We check who they are and how they know you. Then you decide what they can see and do.

  3. 3

    Manage your everyday money

Get paid, pay your bills and spend with your debit card, just like any bank account.

  4. 4

    Stay on top of things

Set reminders for important payments, like your yearly insurance. Get alerts when something needs your attention.

  5. 5

Get support when you need it

The people in your Support Circle hear about the things that matter, so they can check in at the right time.

  6. 6

    Grow your independence

Over time, you can rely on support less and do more for yourself.

Who Touch is for

Touch is designed around how you want to manage your money. Choose an example below to see how it can work.

An adult who struggles with financial organisation

An adult who can make their own financial decisions, but finds remembering payments, organising their finances or recognising when something needs attention difficult.

Core need

Prompts and reassurance, rather than somebody taking control.

“I sometimes need help remembering important financial things.”

Supporting my child

A parent in the Support Circle

A parent who already gives informal financial support: checking balances, reminding their adult child about payments and helping when something goes wrong.

They want their child to become more independent, but worry about stepping away completely.

Core need

Confidence that they’ll know when help is genuinely needed.

“I want to know things are OK without constantly checking.”

How your accounts work together

Touch uses two accounts, both in your name. Splitting them makes it easier to keep bills safe and spending under control.

Main account

Your income and benefits are paid in here. Your bills and Direct Debits go out from here. There’s no card on this account, so your bill money stays protected.

No card · bills protected

Everyday spending account

Money moves across from your main account. This account has your debit card for shopping and day-to-day spending. You can set a limit on how much it holds.

Your debit card · set a limit

Support Circle card (optional)

If you want someone to buy things for you, they can have their own card linked to your account. You choose the amount. The account and the money stay yours.

Switching your bank to Touch

Touch works best as your main bank account. We use the Current Account Switch Service to move everything across for you.

We only start the switch once you have your card, so you’re never left without a way to pay.

  1. 1

We open your Touch accounts and send your debit card.

  2. 2

You let us know your card has arrived.

  3. 3

We start your switch. Your payments and Direct Debits move across within 7 working days.
